Fifi & Frito: The Podkids!
Previously, on "Fernie: A Day in the Life": Turns out our Spherey Pod Fernie is quite the Spherey Playah! One night while he was roaming about, shirking his Doorstop duties, the podman hooked. up. Next thing you know, two minipods were at the door calling him Pops! See kids? That's what happens when you don't practice safe pod sex.
After the initial shock wore off, Fernie picked his yarnjaw up off the floor (which, you know, didn't take much, seeing as he's somewhat vertically challenged) and welcomed his podkids with open arms. (Okay, so they're always open, but whatever.)
After all, how can you resist a face like this!
This is Fifi, short for Fernandita. She's a tiny little thing, but feisty. You can see how she takes after her podpops with all those oranges and blues. She's about 4 rows younger than her brother Frito.
That's short for Fernandito (their mom's not real original with the names; she's also lazy, hence the nicknames). In case any of you were doubting Fernie's paternity *coughchemgrrl*, you can see Frito here inherited the Mustang Sally reds of his pop's smile in his arms and legs, and the oranges and blues in his podbod and smoocher. (Oh yeah, he's gonna be quite the ladies man when he grows up. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree, my friends!)
Fifi and Frito told Fernie how they came to be, about a week after he spent the night with a chick named Addi, Addi Turbo. ("Dude, she told me she was on the pill!" thought Fernie. But he wisely kept that thought to himself.) Addi had planned on having three minipods at first, but these little guys were so riDICulously squeaky were while they were growing, she was happy with just the two.
This suited Fifi and Frito just fine, 'cause they have loads of fun playing together! Frito sometimes totes Fifi around on his head. They both find this really funny.
Heeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheehee!
Like most siblings, though, they do have a tendency to bicker. Over the remote, for instance.
Football again? You get to watch sports ALL the time! I wanna watch Burn Notice!
And like most older brothers, Frito sometimes does things just to make her cry. Pokes her in the eye, for instance. For no reason.
Waaaaaaahhhhh! Daaaaaddddy!
Fernie sat Frito down for a good talking-to, and let him know it was not nice to poke his sister in the eye. (Frito knew that really, but he's an older brother. Sometimes, he can't help it.) Then Fernie sent him to the corner for a time-out.
*sulk* She started it.
This made Fifi really happy, 'cause now she had full control of the remote! That almost never happened!
Mine! All mine!
But, no matter how much Frito torments her sometimes, they know they really love each other. So Frito gave her a big hug, they made up, and the Spherey family lived happily ever after!

Yarn: Cotton Ease in Orangeade (Fernie), Plymouth Dreambaby DK (Fifi & Frito), plus some bits of STR, Calmer, Sugar-n-Cream, and Vesper
Needles: Addi Turbo, size 5, 40" (Fernie) + 3, 40" (Fifi & Frito)
Mods: Fernie - added a small sock full of coins to the bottom to weigh him down for doorstop duties; Fifi - skipped 4 rows on the podbod; Frito - added 2 stitches to the arms/legs

OMG!! You just made my night! (its 2am...I'm wide awake, but so worth it to catch up on the blog reading and read this!!). Of course, I want to know who the SKanky Skeins are that Fernie the playah is hooking up with, but you know....sometimes you just don't know I guess...
