New pattern: Mitt Envy!
Koigu, oh Koigu...I could kiss you.
Remember how I said I really, really wanted to keep these mitts, but I was kind and generous and gifted them away?
You want me. You know you want me. Don't fight it, baby. Knit it!
Well, who needs to envy others when there's a nice, accommodating LYS around? I ended up getting another skein and making another pair for myself. Yes, in the exact same colorway. I'm a dork and I'm proud!
Koigu, take me away!
I moved the cable over a couple of stitches, otherwise it's all the same as before. I'm so glad I knitted a pair for myself, because I love these. They're so pretty. And comfy. And it's Koigu, people. Koigu on the hands. Need I say more?
The pattern is now available on my Free Patterns page, so go! Knit a pair! Be the envy of all who see you! Of course, not that you're not already...

So pretty! Thanks for posting the pattern.
I think I'm getting indecent feelings about yarn now. Is that bad?
Very pretty, thanks for posting the pattern!
Koigu on the hands? WOW. Thanks for that pattern and a reason to use sock yarn for non-sock purposes.
Very nice!! Thanks for another pattern! :) Koigu on the hands..ahh..do you ever take them off ;)
Very pretty - thanks for posting the pattern!
Koigu for my hands, and it uses less than a skein? Fabulous.
oooh, pretty maybe I'll pick up some Koigu next month! They are yummy!
These look great! Very pretty color.
Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing the pattern! I have some Koigu that had been waiting for the perfect project.
Way to knit for you! And to share patterns with me (ok, I suppose it wasn't just for me). I have some koigu that is going to become those mitts. They're really lovely!
So pretty! Good for you for treating yourself.
I love these mitts, but I have tried to knit them up twice now. Only the left one. The cables don't come out evenly and seem to go askew. I have the latest revised download of 11/2/08. I haven't tried the right mitt yet, working on that after frogging the left twice! Is the pattern ok? If so, then I'll know it's me. Thank You for your very cool pattern and hopefully your help. Denise
Hi Denise! I hope you come back and check this post - your blogger profile doesn't have a blog or email address attached to it.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by the cables going askew? Please leave another comment with your email address or if you're on Ravelry, message me over there under this same user ID. The pattern is solid, so I'd like to help and see if we can figure out what is going frog!
Hi! I love your blog and this pattern is super cute. I have knit up a left and right mitt, except I don't know how to finish the thumbs. Specifically I am puzzled about how to pick up seven stitches along the top of the thumb. When I transfered the thumb stitches to the waste yarn I just knitted across. It doesn't seem like there is enough space for seven stitches there. Do you have any pointers? Thanks!
Joshua.
i LOVE this pattern! thank you for posting it. i knit one pair, using the same yarn as called for in your notes (KPPPM) in a different dyelot... and then have done a simple single chain crochet pattern around the wrist, thumb and finger edging in a solid color alpaca lace. i'm so pleased with the 'vintage' look - and how easily these knit up! guess what all the girls are getting for Christmas this year?? Thanks again!
