Skirting around

My very first, actual wear-outside-the-house sewn garment!
Wrap Skirt 1
I love wrap skirts. They're just so versatile. Add a snappy V-neck and a pair of cute slingbacks, and you're ready to go for an office meeting. Throw on a tee and some ballet flats, and you're as casual as can be. Plus, with a wrap, you don't have to worry if you've say, ingested an entire bag of Pirate's Booty or consumed your body weight in Nutella the day before. The waistline is adjustable!
Wrap Skirt 2
For my first foray into the skirt arena, I followed the pattern for the "Easy Breezy Wrap Skirt" from the Sew Everything Workshop. Very clear instructions, and a great intro to wearable items. It was fairly straightforward, the only tricky part was sewing the straight band to the slightly curved waistline.
Wrap Skirt 3
I did make one minor change - I switched the tie opening to the opposite side. For reasons I can't explain, I like the ties to hang down on my left hand side. Probably because I'm left handed. Oh hey, look at that, guess I can explain it. ;)
Wrap Skirt 4
The skirt has an A-line shape with darts in the front and back, so it's very flattering and super comfy. The fabric is what I'm pretty much sticking to as a beginner - a clean, crisp, 100% cotton print from Joann's. When they're 40% off, you can whip a skirt like this out for around $10. Hard to beat that!
Wrap Skirt 5
I'm so happy with how this turned out! It's a great addition to my spring/summer wardrobe!

great skirt! i also like things to tie on the left but i'm right-handed. it's been clearly established that i'm weird though.

i like wrap skirts in theory but i've had too many mishaps with them falling open in inappropriate ways when you sit down. or maybe i'm just doin it rong.

Adorable! I wish I loved wrap skirts, but they don't love me. They always seem to want to unwrap while I'm wearing them.

Perfect fit, and the fabric is to die for. It's so difficult to find summery black-and-reds. You found 'em.

Personally I think that it is better that to wear a shorter skirt because you have nice legs.
