Hats off

Next up on the runway, three new designs from hot design house, Hats for Alex!

Modeling the latest fashions in baby headgear is supermodel and snuggly bedtime buddy Beastmaster. He's still asleep as you can see, because, well, models aren't really morning people.

First up we have the Chic Cap. It showcases the fabulous texture of Cascade Fixation to its best advantage, ever so sleek in its simplicity but never plain.

Pattern: Basic stockinette with a gathered top
Yarn: Cascade Fixation in 3794 (Wine)
Needles: Addi size 7, 16" + Bryspun 7 DPNs

Next we have the Audrey. This fun little ribby number is topped with a fluffy pompom, bringing to mind playful days in the snow.

Yarn: Reynolds Ole-Ole in White
Needles: Addi size 7, 16" + Bryspun 7 DPNs

KnitMZ on the scene - we caught Audrey trying to sneak out of a club this morning. Here's what she looks like from behind. Prepare yourself, it's not pretty.

Guess she thought that sad little pompom would cover a multitude of decreasing sins. She was wrong! Right now, she's just hoping the recipient won't mind. Or look too closely. And perhaps next time, she'll think twice before knitting white yarn on white DPNs.

Rounding out our little trio is the NoC. NoC has a touch of the traditional in Barbara Walker but with an urban flair. If you look closely in the right light when the planets are in alignment, you can sense something of a stitch pattern. Alas, it's overwhelmed by the twistiness of the yarn. However, it adds a funky texture to the hat and served to hold the designer's interest during its creation.

Pattern: Irrelevant, as I no see the stitch
Yarn: Cascade Fixation in 3794 (Wine)
Needles: Addi size 7, 16" + Bryspun 7 DPNs

Inside designer's note: Fixation held at a loose tension will yield two baby hats from one ball with some to spare. But it won't show jack, so it's best to stick with stockinette.

Thank you for coming ladies and gentlemen! That's our show for today. We have a special Hats for Alex announcement coming soon, so make sure you check in with us later!

Ha ha! YOu're a nut! But I love those hats. I like the idea of using Fixation. I've never used that yarn and quite honestly it kind of frightens me. Maybe a couple HFA are all I need to cut my teeth on it with.

I think the stars are right, because I can sort of make out the stitch pattern. So when do we go summon Great Cthulhu?
